My Healing Notes ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by Coach Denesha Bailey under The Shift Series brand. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and password (password is encrypted by Firebase Authentication and we never see or store it in plain text)
- Profile information: Age range, country, starting weight, weight unit, and PCOS type (if you choose to provide these during onboarding)
When you use the app, we collect:
- Daily tracking data: Pillar checklist completions, water intake, weight entries, supplement tracking, mood selections, symptom ratings, period dates, and wins
- Progress photos: Photos you upload for your before/after journal (stored in your private account, not visible to other users)
- Feedback: Any feedback you voluntarily submit through the in-app feedback form
- AI interactions: Questions you ask the AI assistant and images you scan (processed by Anthropic's Claude API and not stored after processing)
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the app's core functionality (tracking, meal plans, education, AI features)
- To calculate your Healing Score and track your progress over time
- To display your badges and milestones
- To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns
- To send you in-app announcements and updates (which you can dismiss)
- To respond to your feedback
3. What We Do NOT Do
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We do not share your personal health data with advertisers
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising
- We do not share your progress photos with anyone
- We do not store your AI conversations or scanned images after processing
4. Data Storage & Security
- Authentication: Handled by Google Firebase Authentication with industry-standard encryption
- Database: Google Cloud Firestore with security rules that restrict each user to their own data only
- AI Processing: AI features are powered by Anthropic's Claude API. Your queries are sent securely via HTTPS to a Netlify serverless function. We do not log or store AI conversations.
- Photos: Compressed and stored in your private Firestore document. Only you can access them.
- Passwords: Managed by Firebase Authentication. We never see, store, or have access to your password.

You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored in your account through the app
- Correct: Update your profile information at any time
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us
- Export: Request a copy of your data by emailing us
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove all your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (such as total user counts) may be retained indefinitely.
8. Children's Privacy
My Healing Notes is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
